How did Daisy's Way Dog Training get it's name?
My husband and I were married in 1970. I always had a passion for dogs, so I wanted a puppy to make our family complete. We saw a newspaper ad for mixed Golden Retriever puppies and went to look at them. We couldn’t believe how cute and fat they were. If I remember there must have been at least eight of them. The mother came over to us and offered us her paw to shake. What a kind loving mother she was.
Well, we picked one of the fattest ones which was a female, and I named her Daisy after the Dagwood cartoon dog.
She was the worst puppy we ever raised. She pulled my curtains right off the wall. She tore up a large foam filled pillow and had it spread all over the house. Ever try to vacuum foam up? Not possible. Trash was her middle name. She would get into the trash can and have it all over the house too!
My husband said she had to go… So Daisy and I had a long talk, and I believe she understood every word I said. From that day on she showed signs of improvement along with my efforts of enrolling her in training school.
Daisy turned out to be the most loving and well behaved dog we ever had. She lived to be 17 years old. She was loyal, loving, kind, loved babies and everyone that came to visit.
Everyone still talks about her, and we ALL love and miss her.
